white beast - part 3

Here's an update on my concept mecha build. right now im working on the shoulder guards of the beast. i cut of a piece of vinyl tile and layout my design for the basic shape of the shoulder guards.

Next i cut of the design i made with a cutter.

From the basic shape of the guards, i designed two variations to be placed in between each other.

Next just sandwich each piece and clamp it.

As the glue dried up i cleaned the holes where the torso is to be attached. the picture below shows the outermost cover for the shoulder guards so this is where i added details.

Since different designs were used over the other, this creates an effect like this.

After everything is attached to form a solid piece, its time for some putty and sanding. :)

That's all for now! stay tuned for the next updates.

Concept Mecha Entry - White Beast part2

the previous post was just basically shaping the main torso. now we will be moving on with the head. i used the cover of the same recycled bottle as the main subject of the head build.

i trimmed out a part of the cover to be shaped like a helm using my nipper and hobby knife. the plastic was quite thick thus giving me a hard time to make a clean cut. i sanded the edges of the trimmed part afterwards.

next i added a lower layer inside the cover using a prepaid cellphone load card.

i also added the eyes of the beast using gems.

for the mouth piece i designed a vent from scratch using vinyl and thinly cut strips from load cards.
i placed my finger for a size comparison. i fitted everything together with blue tack and this is how it looks.
that's all for now. til next update. ;)
